Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Nuclear Safety Engineering Specialist, with a background in Nuclear or Defence, to be engaged on a permanent basis, located in Cumbria.

  • Supporting or leading nuclear safety engineering activities, including the resolution of emergent issues during the build and commission phases, utilizing common safety engineering techniques where applicable.
  • Acting as the intelligent customer for documentation, advice, and services concerning the plant and safety case provided to the company.
  • Developing sound technical solutions to issues arising during construction and commissioning of the plant.
  • Authoring inputs to the Office of the Chief Engineer advising on the compliance of the 'as built' plant against design, build, and commissioning requirements in support of entry into nuclear build phases.
  • Conducting nuclear safety assessments of the impact of changes to, and deviations from, the plant design intent.
Essential Requirements:
  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as Engineering or Physical Science.
  • Understanding of the design, build, commissioning, and operation of plant systems.
  • Demonstrable competence in technical report writing.
