A Teaching Assistant position is available in a Key Stage 1 (KS1) classroom, supporting a child with Autism. As a member of our team, you will be part of a collaborative working environment committed to inclusion and individualised support.

About the Child

The child we are looking to support is a bright and enthusiastic individual who requires dedicated assistance to engage with their learning. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children with Autism and a strong understanding of the challenges they face.

In this role, you will work closely with the lead teacher to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs), adapting teaching methods to meet the child's unique needs. You will also provide one-to-one support, monitoring the child's behaviour and using appropriate interventions to manage sensory overload or other challenges.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated support to the child with Autism, promoting engagement and progress in their learning.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement IEPs, adapting teaching methods to meet the child's needs.
  • Monitor the child's behaviour and use appropriate interventions to manage sensory overload or other challenges.
  • Maintain regular communication with the child's parents or guardians, providing updates on progress and collaborating on strategies to support learning at home.
