Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team in Hay-on-Wye. The successful candidate will provide strategic HR support to our business leaders, driving business outcomes and improving employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employment law, policies, and procedures.
  • Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders and employees.
  • Influence the development and implementation of HR policies and processes to meet business needs.
  • Support employees with HR-related queries and provide guidance on terms and conditions of employment.
  • Lead site absence management, including absence recording, data management, and reporting.
  • Deliver health surveillance and case management programs in partnership with occupational health providers.
  • Own and deliver HR projects and initiatives, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Support the employee life cycle, including performance management and talent development.
  • Drive charitable and team initiatives, aligning with PCI's commitment to ESG.
  • Update and maintain HR systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GDPR.
  • Support change management programs and seek opportunities for process improvement.
  • Lead employee relations issues, including disciplinary, grievance, and capability cases.
  • Provide global and local human capital data analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Lead the site's Quarterly Conversation process, ensuring effective delivery.

Learning & Development

  • Focus on internal development, working with managers to understand departmental needs.
  • Collaborate with line managers to develop personal development opportunities.
  • Coordinate and support global training initiatives and programs at the Hay-on-Wye site.
  • Devise and deliver Line Leader development programs in partnership with Talent Development.
  • Devise and deliver lunch and learn workshops in response to site training needs.
  • Evaluate training solutions to measure return on investment and effectiveness.
  • Support the management of the site training budget and seek additional revenue streams.
  • Actively support apprenticeship and work experience placement.

Talent Acquisition

  • Provide a high-quality and professional recruitment and onboarding service.
  • Lead recruitment and selection of agency support.
  • Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events to build a strong candidate pipeline.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and candidate selection criteria.
  • Source applicants through online channels and represent PCI at external events.

Requirements

  • Experience as an HR Advisor or similar role.
  • Experience within a commercial, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate exposure to complex employee relations cases, absence management, stakeholder management, employee engagement, policy writing, and updating.
  • Ability to contribute to change management initiatives.
  • Ability to manage the implementation of HR initiatives and projects.
  • Ability to influence and impact key stakeholders.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well in busy conditions and operate effectively within a team.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Works well under pressure, thriving in a fluid environment and can adjust to changing business demands.
  • Ability to use a variety of HRIS and related IT solutions.
  • Sound knowledge of current employment law.
  • Excellent customer service skills to communicate with wide stakeholders.
  • Strong MS Office skills, numerate, and competent in Excel.
  • Sound judgment for well-rounded and consistent decision making.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Level 5 CIPD Qualification (or equivalent) or working towards CIPD qualification.
