About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Permitting Officer to join our team at VolkerWessels UK Careers. As a key member of our Highways Term Maintenance Contract (HTMC) team in Luton, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all works on the network are permitted and compliant.

The successful candidate will have experience of working within Street Work permitting, with a good knowledge of NRSWA and the Traffic Management Act. They will also have an understanding of Lane Rental Schemes and be familiar with Confirm and/or Alloy Asset Management Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate permitting activities to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Local Authorities and other stakeholders
  • Provide expert advice and support on permitting and compliance matters
  • Collaborate with the delivery team to ensure smooth project execution
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and industry best practices
Requirements
  • Proven experience in Street Work permitting
  • Good knowledge of NRSWA and the Traffic Management Act
  • Understanding of Lane Rental Schemes
  • Familiarity with Confirm and/or Alloy Asset Management Systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
