A career opportunity has arisen for a skilled process improvement specialist to join Reed Engineering, a leading manufacturer in the power and energy industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing processes and implement solutions to enhance operational performance, driving efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct time studies on shop floor operations to identify areas for improvement.
  • Create routings for different product types or families, ensuring seamless production flows.
  • Support the production planner with scheduling, releasing works orders, and uploading documentation in MRP/SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with contracts and engineering teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date technical documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout industrial activities.
  • Communicate changes and potential issues to contracts and production teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and LEAN workshops, driving cultural change within the organization.
  • Attend relevant meetings to optimize production flow and schedule.
  • Identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions, promoting a culture of accountability.
  • Review and update data input in MRP, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Contribute to CAPEX investment projects, driving strategic growth and development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Over 2 years' experience in process engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with LEAN methodologies and principles.
  • Desirable experience working with transformers.
  • Proven track record in process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Detailed-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Capacity to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, driving innovation and excellence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering a positive team culture.

  • Salary negotiable dependent on experience, estimated at £50,000 - £65,000 per annum.
