About the Role

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Ward Clerk to join their team. As a key member of the ward staff, you will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the ward and department office.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a wide range of administrative and clerical duties to the ward staff.
  • Ensure the safe keeping and availability of all clinical records relating to patients.
  • Provide general assistance to the ward manager.
  • General clerical duties as required within the department.
  • Ensure patient case notes are available, maintained and up to date.
  • Data input on the Patient Administration System (PAS), in line with Trust procedures and policies.
  • Provide general non-clinical advice, information, and guidance of ancillary services directly to patients, clients, relatives, and carers.
  • Deliver and collect patient's case notes, and if applicable x-rays, and investigations results from various locations throughout the hospital.
  • Accurately file reports, notes & results efficiently.
  • Participate in any new directions, which ensure smooth running of the service.

Requirements

  • English Language GCSE (or equivalent) C or above.
  • Maths GCSE (or Equivalent) C or above.
  • Previous Experience using IT applications Microsoft.
  • Previous Experience with NHS systems (desirable).
  • Previous Experience of Ward clerk/Receptionist (desirable).
