Job Title: Low Voltage Control Scheme Designer

Job Description:
GE Renewable Energy is seeking a Low Voltage Control Scheme Designer to join our Grid Solutions team in Stafford. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing low voltage control schemes for power transformers, interfacing with relays, tap-changers and other transformer components, and SCADA / central control system.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare control schematics, specifications, general arrangement drawings, and cable schedules for control cabinets of power transformers.
  2. Select and specify components for ordering and manufacturing, review supplier drawings, and carry out Factory Acceptance Tests.
  3. Meet key performance indicators of on-time delivery, right first time, and budget adherence.
  4. Have experience in Low Voltage Switchgear schematics and related Automation.
  5. Experience of PLC programming / automation software is preferred.
  6. Lead communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:
  1. Electrical or Instrumentation or Controls or Mechanical engineer or person with similar experience in Power Transformers.
  2. Experience of working on Autocad Electrical.
  3. Experience of Document management system (WindChill / equivalent).
  4. Transformer design knowledge, especially transformer design calculations, active part design, insulation, windings, nesting of coils, and tank design.
  5. Demonstrate focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
