Job Title: HVDC Control and Protection Lead Engineer

Job Summary:
As a senior control systems engineer, you will be working on the development of controls solutions for HVDC applications. This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in HVDC systems. The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers to develop and implement control systems, driving consistent design practices and providing technical solutions to industrialize the product.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Leadership

As a technical leader, you will be responsible for leading overall requirement, design, implementation, and development of the HVDC Control & Protection system. This includes activities such as requirement & design, engineering design process & review, and reviewing and approving technical documents.

2. System Development

You will be responsible for developing and implementing control systems for HVDC applications, including HVDC system design, electromagnetic transient studies, and plant modeling in simulation tools like PSCAD and MATLAB.

3. Technical Guidance

You will provide technical guidance to other engineers, supporting moderate complexity projects and tasks. You will also play a key role in engineering design reviews and technical leadership, identifying potential project risks and proposing safe, reliable, and compliant solutions.

4. Coaching and Development

You will be responsible for coaching and developing department talent, acting as a resource for colleagues with less experience, and leading small projects with low risks and resource requirements.

Required Qualifications:

1. Education

Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in HVDC business.

2. Experience

Minimum of 12 years' experience in control and protection system design, with expertise in HVDC control, protection, and sequencing strategy, PSCAD and MATLAB-SIMULINK simulation tools, and HVDC dynamic performance studies.

3. Technical Leadership

Experience in technical leadership, with ability to understand and communicate customer requirements, ownership of technical discussions with customers, and capable of developing client relationships.

4. Soft Skills

Strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems, and demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
