Job Summary

This role is designed to support the development and implementation of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power systems, focusing on performance optimization and cost-effectiveness. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting customer technical enquiries, designing solutions, and specifying main equipment items. This position will be part of a team of experienced power systems engineers, providing opportunities for skill development and growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Power System Design
  • Design main scheme for HVDC converters.
  • Develop single line diagrams.
2. High Voltage Equipment
  • Specify transformers.
  • Design switchgear.
  • Develop measurement device specifications.
  • Specify power reactors.
  • Coordinate high voltage equipment testing.
3. Insulation Coordination
  • Conduct basic insulation coordination studies.
  • Develop surge arrester specifications.
4. Performance Optimization
  • Calculate station losses.
Main Responsibilities
  • Perform studies and deliver reports.
  • Develop specifications for HV equipment.
  • Witness equipment testing.
  • Take technical responsibility in areas of expertise.
  • Provide guidance to peers on areas of expertise.
  • Develop and industrialize solution tools and processes associated with engineering activities.
  • Be actively involved in new developments in HVDC technologies.
Requirements
  • Power Systems Engineering degree, MSc and above.
  • Demonstrated years of experience in industrial engineering roles.
