Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled SEN Play Therapist Assistant to join our team at Wayman Learning Trust. As a key member of our SEN department, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide high-quality support to students with emotional and developmental challenges.

Key Tasks:

  1. To facilitate therapeutic play activities that promote students' emotional and developmental wellbeing.
  2. To collaborate with SEN staff and trained play therapists to design and implement play-based interventions.
  3. To create a safe and supportive play environment that encourages creativity and positive social interactions.
  4. To assist in planning and preparing play therapy sessions.
  5. To monitor and document student progress.
  6. To participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in play therapy, child development, or special educational needs support is desirable.
  • A patient and creative approach to play-based learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and provide individualized support.
  • Current and clear Enhanced DBS check.
