Job Title: Charity Governance Professional

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Board of Trustees as a Charity Governance Professional. As Chair of the Board, you will provide strategic leadership and ensure the charity operates in accordance with its governing document and meets its legal and regulatory obligations.

Main Responsibilities:
- Support the Executive team in their areas of expertise, providing guidance and oversight to ensure effective decision-making.
- Work closely with the other Board members to plan and fulfill the strategic aims of the charity, ensuring good governance and sound financial management.
- Utilize resources exclusively for charitable purposes, exercising control over financial affairs and protecting assets on behalf of the organization.
- Attend and contribute to Board Meetings and Q&A sessions, acting as an ambassador for the charity and promoting its mission and values.

Requirements:
- Senior-level experience in charity or arts sectors, with a strong understanding of governance, financial matters, and pressures on small organizations managing large buildings.
- Ability to foster a collaborative environment and lead on strategy development, motivating the staff team and providing support and challenge to the Director.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
