Job Title: Farm Facilities Administration Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Facilities Administration Manager to join our team at the University of Reading. This role will involve providing exceptional support to the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development and our commercial farm business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Farm Business Administration: Support planning and resource allocation, manage interactions between teaching, research, and the commercial farm, and assist with budget monitoring, requisitions, and invoice management.
  • Research Administration: Provide financial overviews, assist with staff time-sheets, contract costings, and project financial management. Liaise with University departments for research grants and budget management.
  • Communication and Coordination: Facilitate communication between Farm and Research Managers, manage information for School staff, and act as secretary for committees.
  • Liaison with External Stakeholders: Serve as an intermediary between stakeholders and researchers, organise external visitor arrangements, and attend stakeholder events.
  • Buildings and Site Management: Oversee maintenance, equipment servicing, and space allocation. Coordinate with University departments on construction, housing, and security.
  • Personnel Management: Monitor employment contracts and compliance with HR procedures.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, data protection, and environmental regulations.

Requirements: The successful candidate will have a strong background in administration, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
