Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team at Shire Healthcare. As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing support to children with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD) in a specialist service based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

Job Summary:

This is a full-time position, 36 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate ranging from £13.50 to £15.50 per hour, dependent on experience. The role involves working as part of a team to provide person-centered support to children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend staff meetings and supervisions to ensure effective communication and collaboration with the team.
  • Take responsibility for decision-making regarding the welfare of young people and staff members during shifts.
  • Discuss staffing matters with the Manager and ensure all staff members are kept up-to-date with changes to procedures.
  • Provide support with reference to person-centered support plans and ensure the confidentiality of information received.
  • Safeguard vulnerable children and report any suspicion or evidence of harm.
  • Commit to continuous professional development and be willing to cover other homes when required.
  • Liaise with parents and/or carers and other professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
