Member Services Representative

About the Role
The Member Services Representative is an entry-level position at State Employees' Credit Union, providing foundational knowledge of branch operations. This role involves performing routine branch duties and following standard procedures to deliver exceptional member service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide member service by responding to inquiries via phone and in-person, including cash box management, account origination, and maintenance.
- Attend training sessions to develop knowledge of SECU branch operations, including Excel and Elevate – New Employee Training (E&E).
- Complete core modules, such as Checking Accounts, Member Eligibility, and Share Accounts, to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Follow security and control procedures to ensure member information remains confidential and accounts are accessed for business purposes only.
- Balance cash drawers, automated teller machines, and coin sorters, and evaluate daily mobile and automated teller machine check deposits.
- Process foreign and domestic wire transfers, and help verify and prepare cash delivery and shipments.
- Interact with other departments to facilitate member requests, and organize, file, and scan documents daily.
- Assist with opening basic accounts, and learn CXone and other software systems to enhance member service.
- Participate in additional training and continuing education to enhance knowledge of branch operations and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, CCUE Certification, or Associate of Arts degree or Associate of Science degree via the North Carolina Community College Transfer Program (NC-CTP).
- Consistently demonstrate SECU's Core Values, and possess an aptitude for meeting people and developing member confidence, respect, and trust in the Credit Union.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and good problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Work Environment
The Member Services Representative will work in an office setting with physical proximity to other employees and members, and will be required to sit for substantial periods of time.
Physical Demands
The role requires the ability to comprehend and carry out job demands, and to lift 10-15 pounds.
