About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Cook to join our team at Blueberry Nursery School in Hove. As an Assistant Cook, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals for our children, ensuring the safe and hygienic management of the nursery kitchen, and instilling our values of responsibility, openness, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare balanced and nutritious meals for all children attending the nursery, catering for children with specific dietary needs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHH and Ofsted guidelines.
- Deputise for the Cook in all absences and take on full-time responsibilities when required.
- Maintain stock levels and ensure stock rotation.
- Instill our values of responsibility, openness, and teamwork in all aspects of food preparation and kitchen management.
About You:
We are looking for an individual with a Level 2 Food and Hygiene qualification, a minimum of 6 months' experience in a similar role, and a strong understanding of health and safety regulations and COSHH. You should be able to reflect our values of responsibility, openness, and teamwork in your work and be able to deputise for the Cook in all absences.
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary of up to £10.42 to £11.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. You will also receive annual wellness day off, company sick pay, 50% childcare discount, access to retail and other discounts through Perkbox, and dedicated learning and development support.
