About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Cook to join our team at Blueberry Nursery School in Hove. As an Assistant Cook, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals for our children, ensuring the safe and hygienic management of the nursery kitchen, and instilling our values of responsibility, openness, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare balanced and nutritious meals for all children attending the nursery, catering for children with specific dietary needs.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health-Food Safety, Health and Safety, and Ofsted guidelines.
- Maintain stock levels and ensure stock rotation.
- Deputise for the Cook in all absences, with the expectation of deputising full-time when required.
- Be aware of COSHH and follow relevant guidelines.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Level 2 Food and Hygiene certification.A minimum of 6 months' experience in a similar role.Understanding of Health and Safety regulations and COSHH.Reflecting our values of responsibility, openness, and teamwork.What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary of up to £10.42 to £11.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications, as well as:
