Job Summary

The Operational Excellence Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the domestic Small Package function at UPS meets and exceeds customer service and quality objectives. This position is responsible for developing, assessing, and aligning service goals with company objectives, as well as supporting the implementation of training activities and providing operational support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and track monthly performance goals to evaluate service objectives.
  • Analyze performance metrics to ensure service processes and procedures support business objectives.
  • Gather performance trend data for senior management to identify improvement areas and raise expectations.
  • Assist in developing the Small Package and Engineering operations balanced scorecard elements to align with corporate strategies.
  • Provide Operational Excellence Training by supporting Quality Improvement Process training and serving as a training assistant for Small Package operational performance.
  • Provide O.E. Operations Support by maintaining and updating Operational Excellence databases, developing weekly service reports, conducting service trend analyses, and preparing Industrial Engineering staff meeting reports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent in Engineering or a related field.
  • Understanding of operational barriers and failures, and ability to identify and improve designs, methods, processes, and flows through collaboration.
  • Technical skills in information systems reporting, report generation and storage, customized reports, and data integration.
  • Industrial Engineering experience and proficiency in advanced Access and Excel functionalities.
  • Availability to work flexible shift hours, including weekends and travel.
