About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Operating Department Lead. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the specialist team in designated clinical areas, delivering optimal patient care and providing a high-quality service for the multi-professional team.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a fast-paced environment, with strong leadership and communication skills. They will be able to demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, while also meeting the needs of the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead specialist team in designated clinical areas, delivering optimal patient care and providing a high-quality service for the multi-professional team.
  • Act as coordinator for the department, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between teams.
  • Support the Theatre Service Manager in delivering services within designated specialities, considering financial constraints, to deliver safe, efficient care.
  • Authorised signatory for staff time sheets, including bank and agency staff.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse or ODP qualification.
  • Practice Based Teaching Qualification.
  • Educated to Diploma level.
  • Qualification relevant to the specialist area of practice.
  • Management course.
  • Experience of leading or contributing to the management of the operating department team.

Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
