About the Role

AWE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Waste Services Group as a Radioactive Waste Administrator.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading organization in the nuclear industry, contributing to the safe and efficient management of radioactive waste.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and assess radioactive waste for sentencing and consignment.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with waste acceptance criteria.
  • Administer resources to facilitate the export of radioactive waste while maintaining AWE's permits and authorizations.
  • Generate accurate consignment paperwork and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Consign radioactive waste from the AWE estate in compliance with regulations.
Requirements
  • Good standard of basic education and strong numeracy skills.
  • Experience working with nuclear waste is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience utilizing databases to interpret and manipulate information.
  • Ability to collate and present information in structured reports.
  • Awareness of health and safety and good working practices.
