Job Title: Health Physics Monitor

We are currently seeking a Health Physics Monitor to join our team on a major project located near Newbury.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Health Physics Manager and RPA in maintaining radiological oversight and control of assigned buildings.
  • Ensure adequate Health Physics services are provided in normal, abnormal, and emergency conditions.
Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with decommissioning activities, including entries into areas with RPE.
  2. Perform Health Physics Surveys (radiation and contamination) and complete Health Physics Survey Reports.
  3. Utilize air sampling equipment to ensure accurate results.
  4. Verify the functioning of Health Physics survey equipment.
  5. Provide Health Physics coverage of operations as directed by Health Physics Supervisors.
  6. Ensure Health Physics Clearance of items removed from controlled areas.
  7. Maintain stock of Respiratory Protective Equipment/Personal Protection Equipment.
  8. Perform contamination controlled area dresser barrier duties, including organizing laundry of clothing.
  9. Instruct trainee surveyors on Health Physics procedures.
  10. Radiological coaching of staff with whom they work.
  11. Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. City and Guilds level 1 radiological protection certification.
  2. Minimum 3 years surveying experience, ideally with air-fed suit operations.
  3. Proven knowledge of Radiological Protection, Decommissioning activities, and radioactive waste management.
  4. Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing work environment.
  5. IOSH Managing Safely desirable.

The successful applicant must be a British national and eligible to hold a DV level of security clearance.
