About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside the Head of Financial Planning and Principle Accountant to provide financial guidance and support to various stakeholders. The role involves representing the Finance service and deputising for more senior finance officers when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Head of Financial Planning and Principle Accountant to develop financial plans and strategies.
  • Provide financial support and advice to managers, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Represent the Finance service at working parties and project teams, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Take ownership of financial aspects on allocated projects, working in partnership with services and third-party consultants.
  • Ensure accurate and timely provision of statistical, government, and other returns, as well as FOI information.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent experience in an accountancy environment.
  • CCAB qualification is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of local authority accounting codes and IFRS/UKGAP rules.
