About this Role

A leading estate management company is seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Operations Officer to support the Estate Director and Trustees in managing financial operations and strategic planning.

This hands-on role requires close collaboration with department heads and ensures compliance with financial and tax requirements, making it ideal for someone with strong organisational and financial acumen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Key Prime Accounting system across all estate entities, handling sales/purchase ledgers, debt management, and payment processes.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Coordinate payroll data for timely submission to outsourced providers.
  • Maintain and update the Property software to support monthly credit control.
  • Invoice Estate recharges promptly to enhance income.
  • Manage bank operations and finance functions to meet estate needs efficiently.
  • Lead annual budget preparation alongside the Estate Director and external Accountants.
  • Develop cash flow forecasts and advise on overdraft and loan planning.
  • Conduct bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare quarterly management accounts and detailed financial reports for the Family, Trustees, and Estate Director.
  • Lead improvements to finance systems, processes, and IT infrastructure, with a proactive approach to software implementation and training.
  • Oversee and train the Accounts Assistant, ensuring a well-maintained finance workflow.
  • Liaise with external accountants for annual financial statements and handle ad-hoc reporting as needed.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in financial management, ideally within a complex or multi-faceted organization.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of tax compliance.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a finance team effectively.
  • An eye for detail and a strategic mindset to drive process improvements.

Benefits

  • £60,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience and background, negotiable.
