Medical Oncology Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Oncologist Consultant to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical services, and contributing to the development of our oncology department.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake clinical and managerial responsibility for the agreed oncology specialties and patients.
- Liaise with consultant colleagues, department teams, and other hospital staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge, maintaining national standards, and participating in peer review.
- Undertake research and commit to entering patients into clinical trials.
- Share responsibility for clinical standards, including liaison with other multidisciplinary team members and the centre.
- Ensure compliance with national standards and local quality systems.
- Work as part of the multidisciplinary team in the directorate.
- Attend national, network, and local meetings as appropriate.
- Demonstrate a firm commitment to clinical governance, including participation in effective clinical audit and continuing medical education.
- Contribute to management within the trust through the directorate.
- Participate in teaching programs for medical staff, medical students, and other hospital employees.
