Job Title: Locum Medical Oncology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Locum Medical Oncology Specialist to join our team at the NHS. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Oncology department.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Undertake clinical and managerial responsibility for Oncology patients
  • Liaise with consultant colleagues, department team, and general practitioners
  • Continuing responsibility for patient care and department functioning
  • Participate in research and clinical trials
  • Share responsibility for clinical standards and professional standards

Requirements:

  • GMC registered
  • NHS experience
  • Working as a Consultant

On Call Requirement:

  • Able to undertake on-call duties

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be required to undertake managerial duties associated with the care of their patients and the running of their Clinical Department. They will have an understanding of the wider health agenda and modern NHS. Education of undergraduate and postgraduate trainees and other healthcare professionals is part of the consultant role. Office space, computer access, and secretarial support will be made available.

NGH provides comprehensive care and extensive training opportunities. With over 200 consultants, a similar number of trainees, and approximately 60 medical undergraduates throughout the year, we have built a state-of-the-art emergency assessment unit and are developing new ways of working to streamline in-patient care and optimize working with our partners.

We have an excellent social centre with a large library, gym with swimming pool, and the Cripps Education Centre where lunch and snacks are available away from the main hospital.
