Job Summary

The Nursing and HPE Directorate within Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) is seeking an experienced Administrative Support Officer to join their team. As a key member of the workforce, you will be responsible for providing effective and efficient clerical and administrative support to the Directorate.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 secretarial or administration qualification and experience working in an administrative environment. They will be proficient in Microsoft IT packages, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

You will be the first point of contact for the service, requiring clear communication and liaison skills. The role involves managing and prioritizing your own workload, using your initiative, and working as part of a team. You must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information.

The post is a fixed-term appointment for 6 months, with the possibility of extension or permanence depending on available funding and business needs.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Nursing and HPE Directorate. This will include coordinating and implementing office procedures, managing your own workload, and working as part of a team.

You will be required to have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. You will also need to be self-motivated and able to work independently, with a flexible approach to work to meet the needs of the business.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with a Level 3 secretarial or administration qualification and experience working in an administrative environment. You should be proficient in Microsoft IT packages, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable qualifications include experience working in a multidisciplinary team and the ability to speak Welsh. You should also have good organizational skills, tenacious, driven, and enthusiastic to achieve goals and see things through.
