An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Psychologist to contribute to our multidisciplinary team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.



You will be supported to work closely with Occupational Therapists, Family Therapists, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, and Nurses to deliver high-quality care to young people and their families.



The Trust is committed to ongoing professional development, and you will be supported to access regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and training through the Trust's training department.



This role would suit a motivated Psychologist who is dedicated to delivering high-quality care and is passionate about growing and developing clinical Psychologists in Tier 4 CAMHS.



Main Duties of the Job

As a Practitioner Psychologist at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate psychological interventions delivered as part of the psychological therapies team.

Our adolescent inpatient service provides care for young people aged 13 to 18 years old presenting with a wide range of difficulties.

Job Responsibilities

You will take an active part in the day-to-day life on the unit, attending ward rounds and team meetings.



You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver a high-quality, safe, and effective service.



You will contribute to admission and discharge processes, effectively assess risk, and develop risk formulation and management plans.



You will utilize and promote the use of outcome measures and feedback tools within the service and support quality improvement projects.



Person Specification

Qualifications


  • Doctoral level training in applied psychology
  • Professionally registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HPC)
  • Masters degree (with the award of the British Psychological Society qualification in forensic psychology or equivalent) for forensic psychologists working in forensic settings


Knowledge/Experience


  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings
  • Demonstrate specialist experience gained post-qualification of working as an applied psychologist
  • Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design, and complex, multivariate data analysis
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course
  • Knowledge of guidance and legislation in relation to the client group and mental health
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialist psychological therapies in specific difficult-to-treat groups
  • Formal training in supervision of other psychologists
  • Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HPC
