Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom HC One Full time

About the Role: As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness is at the core of everything we do. It affects every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes.

We are looking for an individual who understands that our residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. This role offers a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.

Responsibilities will include planning and implementing the kind of care that will give our residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know our residents and their families, helping to ensure we deliver truly personalised care plans.

You will lead a team of Care Assistants, maintaining the highest standards of care and be a real influence on the rest of the team. Whether you show someone how to use a walking frame, help someone at the end of their life to eat a meal, or talk to a resident's family on the phone, you'll do so with a sense of kindness above anything else.

This role involves assisting the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in providing essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication.

A key responsibility is to maintain accurate records of the job you do and build strong relationships with the rest of your team.

To be successful, ideally, you have completed a Level 2 Diploma S/NVQ in Adult Care and are prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Care or equivalent.

You must have knowledge of caring for people with dementia and experience of person-centered care planning.

Essential qualities include brilliant positive energy, natural ability to get along with people, and effective time management skills.

You should also be able to manage your time effectively and communicate considerately and kindly with residents and colleagues.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and you must be able to recognise signs indicating possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if concerns arise.

The hourly rate is competitive and based on experience and qualifications. You will enjoy access to various benefits and services to support your physical and psychological well-being.

The company provides full training, and you can learn new skills. In return, you will enjoy additional support and benefits including paid Enhanced DBS/PVG, free uniform, a nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more, company pension scheme, and much more.
