Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Learning Support Specialist to join our team in Northampton. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for supporting students with EHCPs and challenging behaviour. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and stakeholders to develop behavioural support plans and implement effective learning strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Literacy and Numeracy Support: Provide individualized literacy and numeracy support to students with additional learning needs, utilizing evidence-based teaching methods to promote academic progress.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual student needs, working collaboratively with teachers and parents to ensure seamless transitions between settings.
  • Adaptation and Implementation: Adapt and implement learning strategies that cater to diverse student needs, ensuring a nurturing approach to learning and building trust with students.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication with teachers, parents, and stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive behavioural support plans.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in inclusive education, literacy, and numeracy support.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Possess relevant qualifications in education or a related field, with experience supporting students with EHCPs and challenging behaviour.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrate adaptability in various classroom roles and be responsive to changing student needs.
  • Compassion and Empathy: Showcase a caring and empathetic approach when interacting with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Valid DBS: Hold a valid DBS certificate and two professional references.

Additional Information:

  • Contract Type: Long-term to permanent contract, offering stability and opportunities for career growth.
  • Working Hours: Term-time only, Monday to Friday, 08:30-15:30.
  • Location: Based in Northampton, with easy access to public transportation links.
  • Salary: £85,000 - £95,000 per annum, depending on experience.
