We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Doncaster, a category B Prison located in Doncaster.

Doncaster houses a male population of up to 1145 individuals, approximately 200 of whom are young offenders aged 18-20.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessments, initiate and review care plans, and develop treatment options.
  • Undertake medication rounds and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed.
  • Assess patients' health needs using an evidence-based framework and be able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge.
  • Provide outstanding evidence-based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalized and informed by what matters to them.

Qualifications:
  • Qualified Mental Health Nurse.
  • Current NMC registration.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
  • Experience of working with patients, face-to-face, who have complex mental health conditions.
  • Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work, and awareness of substance misuse.
  • Sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills, including risk assessment.
