About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Director of Nursing to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will provide inspirational and professional leadership to our nursing staff and Allied Health Professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide visible and effective leadership to nursing staff and Allied Health Professionals, championing a culture of quality improvement, research, and innovation.
  • Work closely with the Trust Chief Nurse to develop and implement clinical strategies, ensuring high-quality patient care and safety.
  • Lead the development and implementation of transformation programs, including service change, operational process improvement, and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective partnership work and the delivery of clinical governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of inclusion and belonging, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusivity within the organization.
Requirements
  • Extensive senior-level nursing leadership and managerial experience within an acute NHS Trust or comparable organization.
  • Strong understanding of national NHS policy and strategy, as well as current professional challenges.
  • Experience of developing and implementing transformation programs, including service change, operational process improvement, and cost reduction.
  • Ability to lead and work in a multi-disciplinary team, motivating others to secure continuous service improvement and successful outcomes.
  • Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to think and act strategically, tactically, and creatively.
