We are seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Accountant to lead our Banking, Treasury, and VAT Team, ensuring timely completion of cash book reconciliations, banking reconciliations, payments reconciliation, and review of sales ledger and purchase ledger VAT.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled financial professional to join our Transformation Unit and contribute to delivering exceptional standards of healthcare. You will benefit from a strong understanding of banking and cash management processes, financial procedures, finance systems, and NHS tax legislation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the Technical Accounts section, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure corporate governance procedures are followed, and financial information is processed in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Meet financial targets in line with timetables, including assisting with Monthly Accounts and Quarterly/Annual returns preparation.
  • Provide expert financial support and advice to staff on various issues, facilitating effective management and financial control.
  • Assist with VAT accounting issues and provide guidance/training to other staff.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a Finance Department of a large complex organization, with a strong background in accounting and a proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and good working knowledge of financial/non-financial computer systems.

Salary Range: £29,970 - £36,483 per annum
