About the Role

The Whalebridge Group PCN is seeking a skilled First Contact Physiotherapist to join their team, working across 3 sites in Swindon. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to work autonomously as part of the clinical team, providing clinical expertise and making decisions about patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for patients with MSK symptoms, establishing a rapid and accurate diagnosis and management plan.
  • Provide clinical expertise, including non-medical independent prescribing, joint/soft tissue injections, and joint aspirations.
  • Manage a complex caseload, including patients with long-term conditions, co-morbidities, and multi-factorial needs.
  • Lead, manage, and contribute to service delivery, ensuring care is proactive, preventive, and population-based.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and carers, sharing complex and sensitive information regarding diagnosis, pathology, and prognosis.

Requirements

  • Hold an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy and be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
  • Hold or be working towards a postgraduate physiotherapy qualification and a prescribing qualification.
  • Have experience in core physiotherapy and MSK physiotherapy, with a portfolio demonstrating practice experience.
  • Be able to operate as a full member of the primary care team, contributing to leadership, service evaluation, and research activity.
