Role Overview

First Class Support is seeking an experienced Autism Support Specialist to provide one-to-one support to students with autism in higher education. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of autism and be able to tailor their support to meet the individual needs of each student.

About the Role

The Autism Support Specialist will work closely with students to address barriers to learning caused by autism, including anxiety, stress, concentration difficulties, time management, and prioritisation of workload. They will possess excellent communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with students, academic staff, and other support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored one-to-one support to students with autism
  • Develop and implement strategies to overcome barriers to learning
  • Work collaboratively with academic staff and other support services
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and support provided
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. degree level) and comprehensive training in adult autism/autism in Higher Education
  • Experience of working with individuals with autism, particularly in an educational setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
Salary and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary of £30.00 per hour, plus benefits including flexible working patterns, PI insurance, and a personalised staff email address.
