About the Role

Arla Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join our Operations team at our Oswestry Cheese Packaging Facility in Shropshire. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our production operations to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among production staff.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety among team members.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate production activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop production schedules and allocate resources to achieve production targets and meet customer requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations in the production facility.
  • Manage and motivate a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their skills and productivity.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as quality assurance, and maintenance, to ensure smooth production flow and resolve any issues or bottlenecks.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet the required standards.
  • Analyze production data and generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in production technology to recommend and implement innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar role, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control principles, and safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to analyze production data and generate meaningful reports.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in using production management software and MS Office applications.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High levels of enthusiasm and a positive attitude to change and problem-solving.
