Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform mammography examinations to the highest standard, ensuring optimum diagnostic imaging quality and adhering to departmental protocols and procedures.
  • Participate in the updating of procedures and protocols to reflect changes in practice, ensuring that our services remain at the forefront of breast screening.
  • Actively participate in equipment quality control and safety checks, documenting all test parameters and reporting any equipment faults or test results outside acceptable limits.
  • Provide professional support, guidance, and leadership to less experienced members of staff, including trainee mammography practitioners, assistant practitioners, mammography assistants, and radiography students.
  • Ensure a high level of environmental quality is achieved by maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in all areas at all times, while complying with infection control policies.
Requirements:
  • Maths and English GCSE pass or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in the NHS, preferably in a breast screening unit.
  • Computer literate and able to work within a team.
  • Effective advocate for patients and ability to empathise with their needs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain concentration, with attention to detail.
