Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Radiation Physicist to join our team in Barrow-In-Furness. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising analysis and experiments to support system qualification, producing radiological safety justifications and leading shield design.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of radiation transport codes such as MCNP, MCBEND and Attilla
  • Develop and implement radiation safety studies and behaviours
  • Conduct radiation metrology and provide expertise on the ALARP principle
Requirements:
  • Relevant STEM degree in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or Nuclear Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience of radiation transport codes and radiation physics
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety and metrology
