Job Title: Band 6 Quality Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Band 6 Quality Nurse to join our team at Waddington Unit, United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading a team of nurses in a fast-paced haematology and oncology ward.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have extensive post-registration experience in oncology and haematology, with a strong background in palliative care. You will be responsible for managing the conditions and side effects associated with cancer, curative and palliative chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. Your expertise will include the administration of cytotoxic chemotherapy, intravenous administration packs, central venous access devices, and chemotherapy administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care and lead a team of nurses in a fast-paced haematology and oncology ward.
  • Manage the conditions and side effects associated with cancer, curative and palliative chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.
  • Administer cytotoxic chemotherapy, intravenous administration packs, central venous access devices, and chemotherapy administration.
  • Develop and implement care plans to meet the individual needs of patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Level 1.
  • ENB 237 or equivalent.
  • Evidence of recent study.
  • Extensive post-registration experience in oncology and haematology.
  • Strong background in palliative care.
