About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Non-Executive Director to chair our Audit Committee, driving governance excellence and risk management within our organization. As a member of our unitary board, you will promote the success of our NHS Foundation Trust, maximising benefits for patients and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Constructively challenge and scrutinise our performance against agreed goals and objectives.
  • Satisfy yourself as to the integrity of financial, clinical, and other information.
  • Ensure robust systems of governance and risk management.

You will also be expected to:

  • Chair the Audit Committee, overseeing external and internal audit functions.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure comprehensive oversight of our financial activity.
  • Bring independent financial acumen to the committee, recommending the Annual Report, Accounts, and Annual Governance Statement for trust board sign-off.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent diplomatic, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • A deep understanding of complex organizational processes, including planning, financial control, performance management, and assurance.
  • Experience of change management and improvement methodology.
  • Flexibility regarding time commitment and ability to travel.
Compensation Package
