Consultant Gastroenterologist with an interest in Clinical Nutrition

This is a new consultant gastroenterology expansion post which is supported by the investment in the Hinckley Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). The CDC will operate 7 days a week and will offer an extensive set of diagnostic services including endoscopy to meet the healthcare needs of the local population.
Main Responsibilities- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients.
- Share responsibility for the day-to-day management of patients.
- Promote new ways of working and co-ordinating care for patients in the community.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences.
- Supervise and train junior medical staff.
- Be involved in appraising and assessing juniors.
- Contribute to teaching, research, and administration.
- Proactively develop the service.
- Actively participate in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
- Participate in a rostered in-reach Monday to Friday.
The department is committed to providing high-quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement. The department is responsible for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the department.
Person Specification- MB BS or Equivalent.
- Full GMC registration.
- JAG accredited for upper and lower GI diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
- Excellent clinical skills and experience requisite to meeting all aspects of the Job Plan.
