Gentech Recruitment is partnering with a client in Newry to fill a crucial Maintenance Engineer position. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a culture of safe working practices, exemplifying safety behavior and taking responsibility for health & safety management among engineering staff and contractors.
  • Ensure Health and Safety risk assessments are completed and implemented, with organized monitoring of statutory requirements across the site.
  • Support the Engineering Manager in planning, agreeing, and monitoring maintenance expenditures to achieve targeted plant performance within budget.
  • Provide Reactive Maintenance coverage to minimize production downtime.
  • Manage engineering spares and consumables inventory.
  • Foster operational efficiencies through a planned preventative maintenance program.

Salary Range: £40k + Benefits

This role demands a strong background in both electrical and mechanical systems, coupled with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain various types of machinery. Required Skills and Competencies include:

  • Qualification to HNC level or higher in an engineering or electrical discipline.
  • Proven experience with online preventative maintenance software.
  • Apprenticeship training and testing.
  • Aptitude for adapting to fast-paced environments and objective delivery.
