Special Needs Education Assistant

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in South London, Sutton. This part-time contract will involve providing vital support to students in Years 4 and 5 with Speech and Language needs.
About the RoleIn this rewarding position, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the development and learning of children with special educational needs. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to children in Year 4 and Year 5 with Speech and Language needs.
- Assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), helping students to meet their learning objectives.
- Supporting the classroom teacher in managing behaviour and providing additional assistance as required.
You will work closely with the SENCo, class teachers, and other staff to ensure a holistic and inclusive approach to learning. Our welcoming and supportive school environment prioritizes inclusivity and student well-being.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly those with Speech and Language difficulties.
- A genuine passion for helping children and supporting their individual learning needs within an educational setting.
- A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to the dynamic nature of a school environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both with children and colleagues.
The estimated salary for this role is £85 per day (dependent on experience). As a member of our team, you can expect:
