About the Role

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in General Practice. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide excellent patient care and support the development of pharmacy services.
  • Use and develop expertise in pharmacy practice, including medicines management, IT systems, and communication skills.
  • Support the work of Primary and Community Care Pharmacy Teams in developing prescribing software, databases, and electronic formularies.
  • Contribute to the development of the role of the pharmacy technician and support technician reviews, specials monitoring, and other pharmacy-related activities.
Requirements
  • Good understanding of medicines, either through qualification or demonstrable experience.
  • Excellent IT skills and communication skills to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Qualified pharmacy technician with SQA National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences and SVQ level 3 Pharmacy Services, or equivalent qualification.
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC) and commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
Working Arrangements

This is a permanent position, and the successful candidate will be required to work 37 hours per week. A car driving licence/car ownership is essential for this role.
