Job Title: Finance Manager

Heriot-Watt University is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to lead the financial management and reporting of the Quantum Technology Hub for a 5-year research programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and control all aspects of financial administration and reporting, including claims from partner institutions and financial reporting on expenditure.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation, preparation, and submission of claims, invoices, and financial reporting to funders in accordance with their terms and conditions.
  • Reconcile and monitor eligible expenditure, compile claims, invoices, and expenditure statements.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records for audit purposes, complying with funder requirements.
  • Provide financial reporting and interpretation for the Research Hub Management Teams, Executive Groups, and Lead Investigators.
  • Offer advice, support, and training on grant conditions and project accounting to Investigators and administrators, ensuring compliance and adherence to project terms.
Requirements:
  • Experience in financial management within a research environment.
  • Proficiency in using Oracle Fusion or similar large accounting software systems.
  • Highly competent in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Proven experience in research finance management.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of relevant legal, statutory, and governance applications.
  • High-level planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise major developments.
