About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at Acorn Homes Group. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young adults in our residential care homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high standards of care, protection, and support to children and young people, facilitating their physical, psychological, emotional, and recreational development in line with individual care plans.
  • Organise, plan, and take responsibility for the daily care and activities of the children and young people in your care.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, children, and young people, both verbally and in writing.
  • Motivate, aid, and guide children in their self-development, setting positive examples at all times.
  • Listen and respond responsibly with sensitivity, managing challenging behaviour and guiding staff in managing that behaviour.
  • Understand and implement Quality Standards, reacting calmly in stressful situations and maintaining administrative records as required.

Requirements
  • Hold or be willing to achieve a Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care with Children and Young People.
  • Be prepared to work early, late, and night shifts, including sleepovers, on a rota basis.
  • Be over the age of 21.
Desirable Requirements
  • Two years' experience working in a children's home.
  • Full UK driving license.
