CHM, a countryside charity, is seeking a Planning Policy Advocate to coordinate the Better Planning Coalition in its lobbying efforts on changes to the planning process.

The ideal candidate will have strong political judgement and dexterity, with experience in coordinating senior policy and parliamentary colleagues from various sectors. They will work closely with MPs, Peers, Whitehall officials, and the Better Planning Coalition to boost influence and impact through strategic policy, public affairs, and media relations.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead advocacy seeking lasting legislative and regulatory change for the good of climate, nature, and people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the Better Planning Coalition's lobbying efforts
  • Work with senior policy and parliamentary colleagues from various sectors
  • Foster strategic relationships with MPs, Peers, and Whitehall officials
  • Develop and implement effective public affairs and media relations strategies

Requirements:

  • Strong political judgement and dexterity
  • Experience in coordinating senior policy and parliamentary colleagues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
