Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - Aspiring Clinical or Educational Psychologist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. The successful candidate will work with students who have Autism and associated learning and behavioural needs, providing a safe and supportive environment for them to thrive.

About the School:

Our school is a specialist institution that provides a unique and tailored approach to supporting students with Autism and complex needs. We have a team of experienced therapists, including SALTs, Occupational therapists, psychologists, and counsellors, who work together to provide a comprehensive and integrated therapeutic approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with Autism and associated learning and behavioural needs
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to implement effective communication techniques
  • Provide 1-1 support for students, using specialist communication methods such as Makaton, PECS, and TEACCH
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized education plans
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in supporting students with Autism and complex needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
