Maintenance Technician: Semi-Skilled Position

Job Summary
The University of Stirling is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Technician: Semi-Skilled to join our Estates & Campus Services team. As a key member of our Operations and Maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our University Estate.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake semi-skilled duties associated with building fabric, external works and building services maintenance, repair and installation works as required by supervisors or management.
- Respond quickly to priority tasks, undertaking fault diagnosis and repair ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard in a timely manner.
- Carry out minor painting, ames taping and plastering duties as required.
- Assist in minor project works.
- Undertake any duties as necessary to support key University events.
- Ensure maintenance stores are maintained accurately and effectively.
- Ensure that the workshops and work areas are kept clean, tidy and free from hazards at all times.
- Ensure that all work carried out complies with relevant risk assessments, safety legislation, University safety policies and procedures and all applicable regulations.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge and experience of working within a dynamic and fast-paced maintenance and repairs environment.
- Strong focus on customer service delivery, aiming to exceed expectations and deliver a positive customer experience.
- Good written skills, including the ability to produce written reports.
- Ability to interact with customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Ability to work well as part of a team or on own initiative.
- Understanding of personal and team responsibility under Health & Safety legislation.
- Good understanding of all building fabric/services related trades.
Working Environment
The successful candidate will be required to work across the University Estate, accessing all plant areas which may include working at height or in cramped/awkward spaces. Occasional out of hours working to support key University events may be required. A current driver's license is also necessary.
