Job Summary

The University of Stirling is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Technician: Multiskilled to join our Estates & Campus Services team. As a key member of our Operations and Maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our University Estate.

Main Responsibilities
  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance and repair works across the University estate, ensuring a high standard of work and timely completion.
  • Respond quickly to priority tasks, undertaking fault diagnosis and repair, and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
  • Undertake minor project works as required, including replacing or cleaning of filters, and carrying out minor painting and joinery duties.
  • Ensure all work carried out complies with relevant risk assessments, safety legislation, and University safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist other in-house staff as required, and undertake any duties necessary to support key University events.

Requirements
  • Recognised apprenticeship in a core trade (mechanical/plumbing) and extensive knowledge of building services maintenance and repairs.
  • Experience of working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on customer service delivery.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a courteous and efficient manner, and good written skills, including the ability to produce written reports.
  • Understanding of personal and team responsibility under Health & Safety legislation, and ability to undertake risk assessments for daily tasks.

Desirable Criteria
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and recognised working safely training.
