Job Overview

The University of Stirling is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Technician: Multiskilled to join our Estates & Campus Services team. As a key member of our Operations and Maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our University Estate.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience of working in the field of building services maintenance and repairs within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for undertaking planned preventative maintenance, repairs, and installation works across the University estate, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake engineering (HVAC/mechanical and plumbing) maintenance, repair, and installation works as required by supervisors or management.
  • Respond quickly to priority tasks, undertaking fault diagnosis and repair.
  • Undertake minor project works as required.
  • Replace or clean filters as required.
  • Carry out minor painting and joinery duties as required.
  • Ensure that all work carried out complies with relevant risk assessments, safety legislation, and University safety policies and procedures.

Essential Criteria:

  • Recognised apprenticeship (core trade mechanical/plumbing).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of working in the field of building services maintenance and repairs.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing maintenance, installation, and repair works.
  • Strong focus on customer service delivery.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a courteous and efficient manner.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge or understanding of electrical systems.
  • Flexible and positive approach, finding innovative solutions to challenges.
