Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Technician: Multiskilled to join our Estates & Campus Services team at the University of Stirling. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking planned preventative maintenance and repair works across the University estate, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake engineering (HVAC/mechanical and plumbing) maintenance, repair and installation works as required by supervisors or management.
  • Respond quickly to priority tasks, undertaking fault diagnosis and repair.
  • Undertake minor project works as required.
  • Replace or clean of filters as required.
  • Carry out minor painting/joinery duties as required.
  • Ensure that all work carried out complies with relevant risk assessments, safety legislation, University safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist other in-house staff as required.
Requirements
  • Recognised apprenticeship (core trade mechanical/plumbing) and extensive knowledge and experience of working in the field of building services maintenance and repairs.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of HVAC, mechanical and plumbing maintenance, installation and repair works.
  • Strong focus on customer service delivery and ability to interact with customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Good written skills and ability to produce written reports.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team or on own initiative.
Working Conditions

The post holder will be required to work across the University Estate, accessing all plant areas which may include working at height or in cramped/awkward spaces. Occasional out of hours working to support key University events may be required.
